Edible Rainbows: Enchanted and the Tea Party

Lolita events are improving year by year. The past couple of years the Tea Party Club have organised a few of the largest functions the lolita community have seen, including last year's event "Frock On".

This month brought about a similar event, which was also held in London, but by a different organisation - "Street Fashion Europe". They are a collaboration of the various lolita communities within Europe, working together to join forces in sharing unique opportunities. The intention is for there to be an annual event, which is held in a different country each year. The groups which help to form this larger community include;

SATURDAY ~ Location: The Gibson Hall, London.
shopping / fashion show showcasing the designers present at the event / bring and buy / raffle / meeting the special guests, makeup tutorial from Minori and auctioning off (for the first time ever) two handmade creations from Minori

Special guests for the weekend included;

Minori, who is famous for her unique shironuri style. She's a talented makeup artist
Hitomi Nomura, designer and buyer for Grimoire
Yuko Ashizawa from Atelier Pierrot
Kunika, a talented sweet artist

I opted for a VIP ticket, which enables early access to the venue, priority seating, a complementary drink and a goodie bag. For both days there were raffles, and these were included with the ticket for the event. The venue itself is the perfect location for a lolita event as grand as this. The interior was truly spectacular, with exquisite chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.

SUNDAY - Location: Rubens at the Palace Hotel, London.

British afternoon tea (finger sandwiches, cakes, scones with clotted cream and jam), raffle and a few gifts for each attendee. The luxury of a tea party event is the more relaxed environment, which enables an easier experience to mingle with others and chat over fine food.
