"Just keep swimming" ~ Talia
I know I normally discuss more positive things here on my blog, but I wanted to share something and put things into perspective. In this holy month of Ramadan, whereby Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, it is a prime example of this. A time to be aware of our surroundings and acknowledge that there are people who take things for granted - whether it is having access to water, which is not only easy accessible but clean running water.
In the space of a few days, two celebrities have passed away. The first was Cory Montieth who plays Finn Hudson on Glee, and the second was Talia Castellano. The 13 year old passed away after a long battle with cancer. She was known as taliajoy18 on YouTube, an enthusiastic fan of makeup, who inspired people of all ages. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends.
It is a real shame that the life journey of anybody has to end, but it is yet another reminder to make the time we have left on this earth count. To be grateful for the people in our lives and what we have. Count your blessings. Appreciate the small and big things. Can you see how this ties perfectly into Ramadan?
